THE POST OFFICE

Hello World!

03/05/2026

This is my first test at a Blog Post on my new Neocities site. I'm in love with this place. I've never used html before but it's pretty straight forward. I've always known I wanted to learn how to code but I could never get the process to stick. but now that I have a full website I feel motivated to learn. so far I've made the homepage, a stories page and this blog page. I want to add a photo gallary at some point too. I need to be careful not to go over my data limit however. so for now I'll just write short stories and blog posts. I don't know how the blog post format will look in the future. for now it's pretty basic and I'm reusing the same templete across all pages. but my goal is to use a different page format for the indivdual blog posts. it would be cool to change the nav bar at the top to only be for the blog section. to add a little uniqueness. but for now I'll keep everything the same as to not confuse myself and anyone else who comes to visit.

Hopefully I'm not getting ahead of myself when I say I'd like to add a comment section for feedback from friends and readers. But it's cool to think that a stranger can just come along and see what I've left behind. I like the idea of something outlasting me. I think that's very human. But I also like the idea of people being able to see what life was like back in 2026, you know? You read a history book or watch film. But all that is constructed. I want something RAW. Kind of like how in Rome when people would write on the walls to call eachother out. Or those order reciepts about the conman in the ancient world that sold bad brass or whatever. If you know, you know.

Other than that I haven't done much else today. I planned to go to the store but I got a call from Anne about working the Polls. What a treat that whole ordeal was. My life for the last couple months was getting kind of bland, so this was a switch up I really needed. The only thing that could make it better is a new Job T_T. I haven't lost hope yet. My buddy is putting in a good word for me at an IT company. It's not GIS work, but honestly. A career change would be nice.

After that call, my parents reached out. Funny enough, they also wanted to ask me about the poll work. It was a pleasure to share with them what I learned and hear about what was going on with them. I'm happy to hear that my Mom is learning a lot about her faith. Truly it's encouraging. It's also strange. I'm now hitting an age my parents were while I was alive. Sure we know our parents were kids, and teens. But to hit an age YOU, YOURSELF REMEMBER THEM BEING is completely different. Like holy smokes, it's like I have to make the same decisions as them and everything.
